NOTE: you MAY link to this tut. you MAY print it out for later use offline. you MAY NOT claim it as yours or take anything else from it. this tutorial is ©Ruby/Stormlight, written February 27, 2014.

Supplies needed:
-- PSP
-- main tube of choice (I used Mira St. Patty by the awesome Vi Nina.  There is also a regular version of Mira available.  You can purchase them at S&CO.)
-- scrap kit "Irish Town" by Bibi's Collection.  you can also purchase this kit here.
-- the plugins EyeCandy 4000, MuRa Meister Perspective Tiling and Lokas Gel.
-- Jazzy's "basic" drop shadow setting of 2, 2, 50, 3 and color dark green.
-- gradient of choice.  I used a default rainbow gradient that came with PSP.
-- font of choice.  I used Faerie.

Let's get creating!

Banner:

1.  Open a new canvas, 600x250.  Choose a paper from your scrap kit (if using the same kit I am, I chose Paper9), paste into your canvas.

2.  Open your tube and paste it onto your canvas.  Resize if needed (I resized 40% bicubic) and apply Jazzy's basic drop shadow.

3.  Paste in a second copy of your tube and keep it full size.  Move it around on your canvas to focus on a specific area (I focused on the four leaf clover she is holding), then apply the drop shadow.  In your layer palette, lower the opacity to 50% and change the blend mode to hard light.  Move this layer under your first tube layer.

4.  Duplicate the main copy of your tube.  Switch to the bottom copy and in your plugins menu go to Toadies > Blast n Blur and apply the settings of X-Effect 24 and Y-Effect 54.

5.  Now let's jazz up your banner with some elements.  Numbers apply to the scrap kit I'm using so if you're using a different one, use the elements of your choice.  All elements are resized with the smart size setting.  Remember to apply Jazzy's basic drop shadow after each element is placed unless otherwise marked:

55 (rainbow) - place BELOW the full size/hard light tube layer.  lower opacity to 90%.  NO drop shadow.
48 (green vine) - 60%.  place on right hand side.
84 (flower) - 30%.  place on vine where the two branches connect.
94 (dangling beads) - place this layer below all tube layers.
7 (fairy sparkles) - place on right hand side of close-up tube.  NO drop shadow.
17 (golden bird) - 35%.  place him perched on the vine to your liking.
13 (fairy dust trail) - place to your liking.

6.  Create a new raster layer for your name.  Type your name and position it to your liking.  In your plugins menu, go to Lokas > Drop and apply the following settings:

7.  Apply Jazzy's basic drop shadow to the name layer.

8.  Create a new layer for your copyright/watermark and add it on.  Use a small font, such as Arial Narrow at 9/10 point.

Avatar:

1.  Create new canvas - size 170x170.

2.  Paste in your paper from banner.

3.  Paste in your main tube layer.  optional - Mirror so that she faces the opposite way.

4.  Paste in the dangling beads element layer.  Drop below your tube.

5.  Paste in the rainbow element layer.  Drop below the beads layer.

6.  Open a scatter element from your kit (I used element 43) and paste it under your tube layer but above the beads.  Position to your liking.

7.  Paste in the golden bird element layer and position him to your liking.  optional - place the bird on the tube's shoulder/arm.

8.  Create new raster layer.  Click it with your magic wand and floodfill with a rainbow gradient of your choice.  Go to selections > modify > contract > contract by 7.  Hit your delete key.

9.  Deselect.  Go to adjust > add/remove noise > add noise.  Set noise to 47%, random, monochrome UNchecked.

10.  Repeat steps 6-8 from the banner directions for your initial and copyright/watermark.

and you're now done!  Enjoy your new forum set!
